Payment Gateway Customization Rules

Detailed guide for hiding, renaming, and reordering payment methods based on cart and customer signals.

Payment rules allow you to control which payment methods appear on the final checkout step based on dynamic cart conditions, order risk, and buyer identity.

Supported Payment Actions#

ActionDescriptionCommon Use Case
HIDERemoves payment gateway completely from checkoutHide Cash on Delivery on orders > $500 or PO Boxes
RENAMEChanges display name of the payment gatewayRename 'Bank Deposit' to 'Wire Transfer (2% Discount)'
MOVE (REORDER)Changes sort position of payment methodsPrioritize Shop Pay or credit card over manual options

High-Value Order Bank Transfer Preset#

To protect your store against high credit card chargeback fees on luxury orders, you can configure a rule that automatically hides Credit Cards and makes Wire Transfer the only available option above a specified cart value (e.g. $5,000).

B2B Payment Terms Gating#

When B2B buyers log in with specific customer tags (such as net-30 or wholesale-approved), WS Checkout Control automatically surfaces invoice and purchase order payment terms while hiding credit card transaction fees.
